www.AirPadreKiteboarding.com - From the beginning, it has been a battle to construct a cohesive theme across Air Padre. Conflicting ideas and changing opinions have made it difficult to develop a unified brand look. After months of deliberation, drawings, and prototypes, the collection of Air Padre merchandise and advertisements came to be (showcased on right - images 1 to 4).

The Air Padre website was a complete overhaul of an existing site to offer an online store, editorial section, newsletter integration, and data collection area for the business (Main image, and image #6 on right). Beyond its functional use, as demonstrated by an increase in unique monthly visitors from 1,500 to 15,000 and ability to generate 1/3 of the business's total revenue, the website has become a creative outlet to showcase my photography, graphic design, illustration, writing, and video work. One of the greatest achievements I have derived from this ongoing project is a better developed skill of creative writing, and a more clear understanding of the hierarchy of information to offer an aesthetic and functional resource for potential customers. Learning how visitors move throughout the site, and seeing what they actually click on (by studying the site analytics) has refined the way in which I create page structure.

The website has been a great source of continuing education. I constantly research new ways of generating traffic and optimizing the navigation, while also providing people with the resources they seek to keep them at www.airpadrekiteboarding.com. Every time the amount of site traffic seems to hit a plateau, it drives to me learn something new in order to continue the positive growth. For instance, the development of our current email newsletter campaign grew from the desire to effectively reach more past, present, and future customers. Hurdling several obstacles such as the battle with email service providers, forming a comprehensive client database, and presenting helpful information in a way that does not trigger spam complaints has proven to be an amazing marketing tool. Reaching the inbox of thousands of clients to inform them about events, promotions, and community activities has greatly increased our conversion rate and ability to meet more website goals.
