Buildings of San Antonio, Texas
During a recent trip to San Antonio, I toured the city looking for interesting buildings. We came across the Tower of Americas, and two other high-rise buildings. The Tower of the Americas is a incredibly tall needle tower located in downtown San Antonio, Texas. I was unable to go up to the top, but did manage to catch the late afternoon sun shining on it for these photos.
Queen Isabella Causeway
Living on South Padre Island I frequently cross the Laguna Madre Bay by means of the Queen Isabella Causeway. The bridge is several miles long, connecting the island to Port Isabel, Texas. Queen Isabella is an impressive structure, and makes for interesting views and sights. Here are a few shots of the bridge taken from various angles on my Canon 5D Mark II; 50mm lens.
The Shores - South Padre
The Shores is a new housing development going up on South Padre Island. They are building some great architectural structures on the north end of the island, and it is a great place to shoot. Unforunately, they routinely like kicking me out of the complex when I photograph there. Maybe they will hire me on as a photographer soon, so I can be granted better access :) . Here are a few of the sunsets behind select buildings.
